What's the purpose of The Shock Treatment?
The Shock Treatment (aka. TST) intends to bring back to the front scene the original role of movie reviews as an important source of feedback and enhancement guidelines for the movie professionals and a fun somewhat informative read for movie goers. What we're gonna do here on top of that is write a whole bunch of offensive crap because, our goal is to make the movie biz dudes think and help them create better flicks. The Shock Treatment intends to deliver, politically incorrect, caustic, in-your face and humorous if possible movie reviews on a regular basis.
How does the site work?
The Shock Treatment™ is an ongoing contest between movie buffs from all backgrounds and regions of the world to write the most decadent, most absurd or most disturbing, well to sum it up, the most relevant movie review possible. This is a quest to ultimately become a supercritic and go on writing for magazines or having a show sponsored by the studios on TV. The Shock Treatment™ is dedicated to publish on the internet and on any other available support movie reviews written by professionals and non-professionals that are both more useful and funnier than one would expect. Of course if your reviews are serious you are welcome to post too.
Why Join The Shock Treatment?
With The Shock Treatment™ you can get more exposure for your reviews. They are treated and displayed like professional reviews and obviously they get ranked and the best of them will get more exposure appear automatically on the front page etc. This is not like posting your comments on a movie board that hardly anyone reads. This website was created only for you movie fans! One objective is to allow new talented critics to rise and shine.
Who can submit a movie review?
Anyone can do it as long as you can write in a somewhat proper english. This is no f***** grammar contest so if you're speaking indian-english you don't have to worry about getting published... Write a perfectly insightful review with an emphasis on the technical aspects of filmmaking or whatever suits you, and you will be published on The Shock Treatment.
Is there anything to win?
Nothing at the moment except becoming highly notorious, famous and f*** material and hanging out at parties with Eva Mendes and Sir Anthony Hopkins. Of course none of this is true, we are saying that as a simple joke. Well there will be things to win as we get sponsors and ultimately expand TST to a secret format that will be unveiled at a later time and when you least expect it. So if you reach a certain critic status on the site goodies might come your way.
What are the different critic levels I will achieve?
There are at the moment 10 different steps to go through in order to achieve the level of Supercritic on The Shock Treatment. At which point you can go get your press card and go watch advanced screenings. Each level corresponds to a number of points that are attributed using a highly complex (even we have difficulties understanding it) mathematical formula. Here are the 10 levels

What if I don't agree with the reviews?
Holly shit ... We haven't really thought about that possibility cause all of TST's reviews will be good and to the point in addition to going through an approval process. But if you are still offended with the content of one of our reviews please feel free to let us know using the contact us form or the abuse button that can be found on each review page. Seriously no review of any critic shall be taken too seriously... if offense is being felt we suggest you stop your reading immediately and consult someone humorous or go watch a good flick.

You can create an account on TST and send private messages to any of the critics. And we can be reached through this form.
How does your rating system work?
We rate from 0 to 10. No stars, no thumbs! We hope that you will stop at nothing to give the most appropriate note to a movie, even compare it to something that has nothing to do with it. Cause we will.
